Answer: Business, Construction, Education, Government, Industry, Public Safety, Transportation, and others.
3. How does GPS work with PTDRS?
Answer: GPS asset management uses the radio system to pass data between applications that allow users to login and get the mobile asset data on location, stops, speeds, geo-fencing and many other features and reports.
4. What is the GPS coverage area?
Answer: GPS is limited to the existing radio footprint, now and in the future.
5. What is GPS geo-fencing?
Answer: GPS geo-fencing is a feature that signals someone once the radio enters or leaves a specific mapped area specified by the users. This is very helpful in directing company mobile assets.
6. Do the radio users have complete radio privacy?
Answer: Privacy is controlled by the users of the system. The data is encrypted and cannot be deciphered by scanners or an
un-intended user. The radio system allows users to talk in groups or individual calls that create this privacy.
7. What does individual call mean?
Answer: Individual Call is a call that is intended between two specific users within the customer’s radio system, while on PTDRS. This type of call is usually made to conduct private conversations between two radios.
8. What is “radio check” and “radio monitor” features?
Answer: Radio check is a digital signaling feature that allows one radio to check to see if another radio is available for a call, i.e. in range, turned on, etc. Radio monitor is a feature that is a specifically purchased feature that allows one radio to independently monitor the audio near and around another radio for 20 second durations.
9. What does it cost to use the Palmetto TRBO Digital Radio System?
Answer: Typically a user would purchase their radios and subscribe to PTDRS for the radio coverage needed. Typical unlimited use costs can range from $15/mo up depending upon the quantity of radios used, extra features and the coverage area needed.
10. How much do radios for use on PTDRS cost?
Answer: There are many types of affordable radios along with different features. Additionally, rentals, equipment leases and short term plans are available to fit the needs of most customers.
11. Can a user operate on his private radio system and PTDRS, and analog legacy systems simultaneously?

Answer: PTDRS projected coverage expands along the interstate highway and throughout the coast of SC. Interoperability with digital radio systems in other towns throughout the entire US in the planning stage. Answer: Connect Plus is the trade name given to the flag ship systems that Motorola connects with site controllers, allowing the maximum distance, radio features and flexibility for the users. Capacity Plus systems are generally one site, with the exception of the “linked” Capacity Plus, which is generally a smaller featured digital radio system.
